John 3.16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
It is written that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. There came a period of six days where the Spirit of God moved at the command of the Word of God to bring about the vision of God the Father. At the end of six days God placed man at the head of all those things created in those days. "Tend the garden," He said, "and do not eat the fruit from the tree in the midst of the garden. Fill the earth and subdue it." And God walked in the Garden of Eden in the cool of the day. He fellowshipped with man and man with Him; and it was very good...
Into this scene came the enemy of man and of God... Satan. He would not let man enjoy God's creation. In his heart he wanted the adoration and worship from man that belonged to God alone. He knew the command of God and knew the result of disobedience having felt it first hand. Through trickery and deceit he entered the garden and deceived the woman. She ate the fruit forbidden by God and then offered it to her husband Adam. Though Adam ate the fruit it was not because he was deceived but that he did not want to be separated from the woman that God gave him. Man fell that day and the creation of God became corrupted with sin.
What was God to do now that His work became corrupted. He could no longer enjoy the fellowship of man for man became a disbelieving creature who would not trust Him. The remedy could have been very simple... destroy the work and begin over again. For God that you would have been very simple yet He looked on man, His creation, and could not bring Himself to destroy the creature that was created in His image. Yet the penalty for disobedience, for sin, is death. He wanted fellowship with millions, billions of these special creatures and now the two have fallen away that would have given birth to all these children.
If only they would have believed. If only they had remained faithful. What a blessing we would have been to God and He to us. What would God do now? Destroy... No! He knew the penalty had to be paid for it is right and just and good. But what man could die for the sin committed when all who would be born would be marked for death from birth because of the stain of sin passed on to all the future generations of Adam?
He could have created a new man but in His love for the creature He determined that He would pay the sacrifice. He would have to become a man born of a woman to become a human. Then and only then can He pay the penalty due, a righteous life for the life of the sinner.
And the Spirit overshadowed the virgin and she became with child and gave birth. He dwelt among us and taught us the way of life. He went to the cross and willingly laid down His life to purchase the redemption of our souls. He was raised the third day a new creature born with immortality. Then He offered this gift of life to all who would believe that God was righteous and paid the debt. He offers this new life to everyone. To all who would walk with Him in obedience to the way of life, the way of God and not in the way of death.
He came into the world not to condemn the world for the world was already found guilty and the judgment of death hung over it. Many have tasted this death of the body already and death of the soul remained still in the future. Yet God loves each and every human born on the earth for each is unique and special to Him. Through Jesus and all those who have accepted the gift He extends the knowledge of this gift to all who remain.
He extends this gift to you who have not yet accepted the gift. He loves you for you are special and one of a kind in His eyes. You can be a friend of God who has a unique relationship with Him that no other being can have. He laid down His life to give you life and so much more He will give as you can receive it, both here and now as well as in the eternity ahead. He loves you and no good thing will He withhold from you if you come to Him, believe Him, follow Him, live in Him. He yearns for you and your absence from this family would diminish the whole... come... Join the family and live. Come... and experience the love of God for yourself.
